I have been a Leicester wedding photographer shooting over 1,000 weddings over many years. During that time I have photographed many Winter weddings and had to handle wedding day rain at Summer weddings in some difficult lighting conditions.
If you face some wedding day rain when the weather turns bad you need to know if your photographer has the experience needed to still be able to produce some great images of your wedding.
As we know, here in the UK one minute it can be sunny and the next it could be raining or both at the same time
Indoor Wedding Photography
Rain on your wedding day
Indoor wedding photography requires a careful blend of flash with ambient and natural light to avoid shadows and black backgrounds. If you are having a Winter wedding then when looking at a wedding photographers work, ask yourself if the wedding photo samples you are being shown were all taken on lovely sunny days because that is easy !.
Best practice if you are having a winter wedding is to ask to see examples of what a wedding photographer can do in those difficult Winter weather and indoor lighting conditions.
As I mainly shoot at Leicestershire wedding venues this means I get to work at the venues during many different times of the year. So I should be able to show you photos taken at your own wedding venue and also at the same time of year as your wedding.

Winter weddings
A Winter wedding will also mean early dark evenings to contend with. Which is why its always a good idea to view wedding photography samples that reflect your wedding date.
Perhaps you could also be having wedding fireworks or wedding sparklers so you should also ask to see previous wedding photography samples of those too.
