TIPS FOR WEDDING SPARKLERS
Here are my tips for wedding sparklers on your wedding day after my many years experience in photographing them. I dont mind admitting that sparklers and fireworks are very difficult to get perfect.
** Remember that when spelling out a L.O.V.E with sparklers you have to do the letters in mirror / reverse so that from my angle they are the right way around.
The LOVE looks better if you have bridesmaids doing it
** Give Give E to the soberest bridesmaid as that is the hardest letter to do backwards
** Give the O to the drunk one.
** Buy a lots of cheap lighters as you need to light as many sparklers at the same time otherwise the first ones will be out before they are all lit. Or a few kitchen blow torches. Sparklers can also be lit from another sparkler.
** Get the longest ones you can find to give maximum chance of getting the photo right.
** Some venues are very strict on their use so check first if they will allow them. You probably will be required to supply your own metal bucket with sand to dispose of them, but this can also double up as a way of displaying them and giving them out.
Do not be tempted to put them on the table as name place settings as people may think that they are for lighting now and not later
** The best time to do a sparkler shot is just before the first dance as it sort of fits nice there and people are not too drunk – accidents can happen
** Don’t let kids join in as it can be a bit chaotic and actually quite dangerous**
** Buy lots of sparklers as you will need to practice when doing a heart, or LOVE. Its not easy to get right the first time.
If you have a DJ get them to make an announcement and get everyone outside for a group wedding sparkler wave
** Check with your venue, they may insist on a metal bucket with sand, or may not allow sparklers it at all.
I have seen a few fake heart sparkler shots with a too perfect shape or too high for anyone to reach. My heart one on here has someone behind them making the shape, moving fast means that they are blurred out of existence. But check out this close up with the face 
** And finally if you plan on having them or fireworks then before you book your photographer ask them if they have they photographed them before and have some to show you.
Fireworks and sparklers are actually very hard to do and with fireworks you only get 1 chance.
