All of the Leicestershire wedding photography images on this site will of had different amounts of photo editing applied as for me when I press the button that is only part of the story and enjoyment of wedding photography.
The amount photo editing will vary with each wedding photographer it could be just picking the best images or adjusting some brightness but I like to spend extra care with my images, it can be too easy to over do things at the the wedding photo editing stage but even though a single image may take me half an hour to edit until I am happy I still prefer to keep it looking natural so you may not even know anything has been done at all unless you were to see the original version.
A wedding photographer doesn’t actually have to have any editing skills at all as they can pay for a 3rd party usually in Asia who will to do all the colour correcting for them but I prefer to keep 100% control of my images for both security and artistic reasons.
Its not an easy skill and to be able to properly colour correct and edit an image and it should be done on a professional grade calibrated monitor in a light controlled environment and not a laptop.Yet that’s just the basics and isn’t enough as you also need to have learned how to “see” colour correctly so that you know what you are editing is correct. When I was 16 I worked in Leicester’s top professional photo print labs for 7 years where I learnt the skill of high end colour grading in real darkrooms using enlargers and photographic paper. When we look at something our eyes will constantly adjust to the light and we then build up a picture of how the scene looks making the dark parts look brighter and the light parts darker, but the camera cannot do this and so its in the editing after the wedding that I can then start to put back some of that feeling that the camera couldn’t see so I then can create the image in more of a way that it was seen by the eye I can do this because I was there whereas a 3rd party editor does not have this benefit.

Video guys have to do their job too and can sometimes stray into my shots without knowing
